Tiramisu French Toast

This tiramisu french toast is about to become your new weekend favorite. Soft, fluffy brioche dipped in a coffee soak, cooked until golden, topped with a cloud of whipped mascarpone cream and cocoa powder.

What you’ll need

For the french toast
  • Thick bread slices: We recommend brioche for it’s soft, pillowy texture.
  • Eggs
  • Brown sugar
  • Vanilla
  • Espresso powder: The key to that tiramisu flavor! A little goes a long way. This one works great.
  • Butter
  • Cocoa powder
For the mascarpone cream
  • Mascarpone cheese
  • Heavy cream
  • Maple Syrup
  • Espresso powder
  • Vanilla

How to make

01. Make the custard

Whisk the eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, and espresso powder. Dip each slice into the custard and let it soak for 20 seconds.

02. Cook

Melt butter in a pan over medium heat and cook each slice for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden.

03. Make the mascarpone cream

Beat the heavy cream, maple syrup, espresso powder, and vanilla until soft peaks. Add the mascarpone and beat just until combined. Set aside.

04. Assemble

Spread the mascarpone cream over each slice or layer it between slices if you’re stacking. Finish with a dusting of cocoa powder. Serve and enjoy!
