Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Donuts

These baked pumpkin chocolate chip donuts are soft, fluffy, and coated in a pumpkin-spiced sugar. They come together in just one bowl and take only 20 minutes from start to finish!

Ingredients you’ll need

  • Butter: melted butter goes into the donut batter and is also used for dipping after they’re baked
  • Sugar: a mix of granulated sugar and brown sugar for the perfect sweetness
  • Egg: one egg is all you need
  • Pumpkin puree: make sure you’re using 100% pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie mix!
  • Vanilla extract: just a teaspoon for flavor
  • All purpose flour: for the base of the donuts
  • Pumpkin spice: for both the batter and sugar coating
  • Cinnamon: for the sugar coating
  • Baking powder and baking soda: these help the donuts rise and get fluffy
  • Salt: just a pinch
  • Chocolate chips: these get folded in the batter at the end!

Make Ahead & Storage

How to store: These donuts are best served the day they’re made. Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days.

Can I freeze baked donuts? Absolutely! Freeze them uncoated in a bag or container for up to a month. When you’re ready to serve, warm them in the oven and dip in butter and pumpkin spice sugar.
