Double Chocolate Muffins
If you’ve been keeping up with the 2024 Paris Olympics, then you’ve probably come across the famous Olympic Village Chocolate Muffins. They’re double chocolate muffins with a chocolate ganache filling… YUMMM. Here’s our recipe inspired by the Olympic Village’s viral sensation that you can make at home!

The ingredients
- Sugar: We used a combination of granulated sugar and brown sugar for sweetness, moisture, and texture.
- Eggs: In this recipe, eggs serve as a binding agent and help provide structure.
- Vegetable oil: Adds moisture to the muffins, making them soft and tender.
- Whole milk: For richness and better flavor.
- Plain yogurt: Adds moisture and helps create a tender crumb. You can substitute the yogurt for sour cream.
- All purpose flour: This is essential for the overall structure of the muffins.
- Espresso powder: This enhances the chocolate flavor. We used a small amount, so your muffins won’t taste like coffee.
- Cocoa powder: We used natural unsweetened cocoa powder for richness and chocolatey flavor.
- Chocolate chips: Semi-sweet chocolate chips add bursts of melted chocolate throughout the muffins, creating pockets of gooey goodness.
How to Make Chocolate Ganache
Our two-ingredient chocolate ganache recipe is quick and easy and gives you that gooey chocolate center. Here’s how to make it:
- Microwave the heavy cream until it is hot. You can also heat it up on the stove but be careful not to let it boil.
- Pour the cream into a bowl with the chocolate. Then, cover and let it sit for 5 minutes, allowing the chocolate to melt.
- Finally, whisk until smooth. Transfer the ganache to a piping bag and you’re ready to fill the muffins!
