Coffee Cake Donuts
These coffee cake donuts are sooo warm and cozy. They're topped with a crunchy pecan crumble and sweet maple glaze that will make your kitchen smell like fall.
Ingredients
Pecan Crumble
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup pecans chopped
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter softened
Donuts
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup sour cream or plain greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
Maple Glaze
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp milk
Instructions
- Combine the ingredients for the pecan crumble pea-sized balls form. Refrigerate while you prepare the donuts.
- To make the donuts, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, sour cream/yogurt, butter, and vanilla until combined.
- Add in the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until combined.
- Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe into a donut pan. You can also spoon the batter into the pan. Top each with pecan crumble. Bake at 350°F for 12 min.
- Whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled donuts.
