How To Make Brown Butter
- Step #1: In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter, constantly swirling the pan.
- Step #2: Once melted, the butter will begin to foam and get bubbly. Watch it closely, being careful not to burn. This should take about 5 minutes.
- Step #3: When the butter turns a golden brown and small brown bits appear at the bottom of the pan, remove it from the heat and transfer it to a heat-proof bowl. Allow the butter cool.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Fries
Chocolate chip cookie fries are basically a cookie upgrade and yes… we’re obsessed. Brown butter, gooey chocolate, and that perfect balance of crispy edges and soft centers make them impossible to resist.
Ingredients
- 12 tbsp butter unsalted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- To make brown butter: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, constantly swirling the pan. Once melted, the butter will begin to foam and get bubbly. Watch closely, being careful not burn. After the butter turns golden brown, remove from heat and transfer to a bowl. Let cool slightly.
- Add the butter to a bowl along with the sugars and mix well. Add in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
- Add in the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Mix just until combined. Then, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spread the cookie dough into a 9×9 pan lined with parchment paper leaving some overhang so you can lift it out easily. Refrigerate for 1 hour until firm.
- Lift the dough out of the pan using the parchment. Slice the dough into 16 lengthwise cuts, then slice across the middle to create 32 thinner cookie fries. Carefully transfer the fries to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 1/2 inch apart.
- Carefully lift the cookie fries and transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350℉ for 10-11 minutes. They will spread slightly in the oven. Take the fries out of the oven and, while they’re still warm, gently press the long sides back together using two knives to reshape them.
